I am actually asking you this question, reader. I have no idea. You can Industry Email List report these companies, but I wonder if anything meaningful is being done. It's a big business that's not going anywhere unless Google, Yext, the Federal Trade Industry Email List Commission (FTC), and state governments do something to crack down: Google needs to bring more lawsuits against such companies. They also need to be more proactive in educating business owners about these types of practices. A message and a form on their website is Industry Email List not enough. Yext (and directory services like it) must not allow companies that use these practices to use its software. The FTC and state prosecutors must also bring charges against companies Industry Email List of this nature. State governments also need better notification methods. The media must educate everyone Industry Email List about these types of practices. Kudos to Planet Money for diving into it. But let's say I've done everything I'm supposed to do With what's currently available. This company was Industry Email List in the state of Utah, so I need to research the laws: And that's even if I come this far. That's assuming I didn't encounter any issues in the reporting process. Which brings me to... Problems with the reporting process Remember when I said these companies are hard to report? Well, it gets even harder Industry Email List to report them now. They evolve beyond an individual's ability to report them. Remember, I received this information ONLY when I paid $299 to do so.
